Herman and the Young Americans

Herman is the best thing ever. Herman is a new friend I would love to get for Cadfael. Herman is a 22 pound (that's weight not price) rabbit, and forgive me for indulging into a four year old but soooo cute. (Sorry) His back feet are bigger than Cadfael's. He's just, well, awesome.

In other news the Americans have landed. At Chris' school the Young Americans (does what it says on the tin) were here to teach the kids song and dance. We went and see the show on Wednesday night. It was high energy, good, clean, wholesome, fun, and corn-fed -they all had bubble butts. (How can people who dance for a living be so chubs?) It reminded me of America. The best part was to advertise for kids to join the group they said they were on the Bob Hope Christmas Special and Bing Crosby Christmas Special and Johnny Carson - oh yeah way to connect with the disenchanted youth of Britain - they're down with the kids.

Brilliantly the sports hall that it was held in was falling apart so much it looked like where the exciting climax to a post-apocalyptic zombie film should take place. We had to stand in the back so Chris could film and looking over the heads of the parents watching the show it was just a wash of bleached blond with black roots, mullets, and foe-fur trim. Classy.

Speaking of America and corn fed I got a package today of more Jiffy corn bread and hickory salt to fuel my addiction. And Cadfael got his favorite kind of new squeaky foot (soccer) ball and he's been going manic for about an hour now. Cute but slightly driving me mad, maybe I should get him a giant rabbit to play with.

Wait, I just came across your blog and have been dipping promiscuously into it without any concern for narrative sequence: could you just confirm that Cadfael's bum op went well and that he is indeed in Narch with you?

That rabbit is huge, I don't like it, makes me feel like Alice In Wonderland. Mail her to me at this address.... (ba-dum-tish)

Good to see Cadfael has good taste in foot (soccer) balls, too. We might have an opening for someone as tricky as he undoubtedly is, low centre of gravity and all.

How for now!

Well Natasha, first of all thanks for stopping by my little dusty corner of the web and yes Cadfael's bum op went fine, and the lump has not grown back. Secondly, yip Cadfael now resides in lovely Norwich, he can usually be found sniffing around the greater Unthank area.

And Marco I thought Huddersfield already had a dog that played on the team. (This is something very vaguely remembered from a Patrick Stewart interview.) But we know from experience Cadfael is very good in goal. (Granted we are talking a doggy-sized goal.)

Having given the matter further consideration, please disregard the previous comment.

Thanks for the update. I shall certainly look out for Cadfael as I slink along Unthank mourning the loss of Zuckermann's and their strawberry tarts.

Btw I'd be wary of introducing Cadfael to Herman - as my boyf said, "No rabbit got that big eating carrots."
