Spring Breaking

You might think me a slug, but a slug I am not. I have not been posting due to a very busy schedule over the last week or so. Here is the low down:

March 18th: Worked out, went to work, cleaned the house. Not exciting yet, but you must admit busy.

March19th: After stupidly long and early bus ride I picked up my kid sister Kelsey from airport only to have another stupidly long ride back. After a lovely Indian take-away I dragged a jet-lag 13 year old to Chris’ school’s production of Barry Manilow’s Copacabana. There should be human rights activist against such acts, but despite it being the worst script/plot (Her name was Lola, she was indeed a show girl) in the known universe loosely based on one of the most soul destroyingly catchy tunes, done by British teenagers with fake American accents, the show was alright. It had stupidly high production values and it was the last night so the kids were feeling a bit slap happy which made it fun. Oddly/thankfully/randomly the song Copacabana only happened once in the show and that was after the bow, and the show didn’t even follow the plot of the song; it was a dream inside a dream with pirates.

March20th: Tom, Faye, Dan, Sara, Big Chris, Little Chris, (cardboard box), Kelsey, and I were supposed to do many lovely things that day. Plan: Break our fast at the Rose Valley public house at 11, then head to the north Norfolk coast for the day. What happened, the Rose Valley wasn’t open, the weather was crap –which makes the North Sea only welcoming if you wish to throw yourself in some sense of bleak oblivion and have given up on life. So we went to the Unthank Arms (oddly not on Unthank) and when poor Kelsey was not feeling well and when presented with a full English breakfast she understandably felt worse. So Kelsey went home with Chris so she could sleep it off then we all went back to ours for an enjoyable day of board games in which Kelsey later played. That night we went to Old Orleans where Chris had that favorite of Norfolk dishes, bison burger, but only because they were out of crocodile.

March21st: Kelsey and I joined our friend Hans in Cambridge for a lovely and pleasurable stroll around. (Hans went to Cambridge so he told us lots of interesting things.) Then Kelsey and I took a punt down the river Cam, and then off to Ely to enjoy the cathedral at evensong and said hello to some horses, foals, and comical stiff legged sheep in a field near by.

March22nd: After a quick trip into town, a broken windscreen wiper, some women from the AA who could not find the A47, and a trip to East Dereham, Ginger Chris, Kelsey and I went to Snettisham Park and fed some baby sheep, a fat sheep, some cool goats, and some chickens, and played on their awesome playground. Then off to Castle Rising which is an amazing 12th century keep in which we might have heard an unearthly noises from.

March23rd: After another jaunt into town, and a visit with Pull’s ferry cat, we went to the North Norfolk coast (which with a nice sunny day was lovely.) Kelsey had banana and chocolate chip ice cream while I had lavender ice cream, because I’m weird. It was all very agreeable and British-sea-side-esque.

March 24th: I spent all day on a bus and Kelsey had to go back home, though we didn’t want her to. I had to spend even longer on the bus because someone was not very thought of others.

March 25th: Went down to spend Easter in Portsmouth with Chris’ family and crazed collie, which was very nice.

So you are now vaguely up to speed and I need to get some dinner.

Over and out, around and through.
