Yes, it is cold.
I know people are just being nice and friendly and talkative, but when I am sitting outside in below freezing temperatures, wind blowing, hail/snow/sleet falling, for three hours really the last thing I need is someone saying “I bet you’re cold.” “Boy its cold.” “Do you have heater under there?” – Yes, yes, and no. Have I lost all feeling in my extremities? Why yes I have that’s why they are that lovely shade of white. Still nice to make conversation. It was also nice to have people come and visit this week like Gloria, Joe, Roe, and Danni, because I finally feel vindicated for my excessive amount of clothing, because while they where shivering I was warm, either that or I had just finally lost all sensation in my body. It is very humbling I feel like those uber-skinny starlets that have to put on a fat suit then walk around for a day only it’s just a soccer-mom/blue collar suit instead. For the most part I just laugh at it because its just a part time job not my life choice, so I giggle to myself that I know something those people that judge me don’t. Though it was also humbling/laughable that in the wind yesterday when I turned to look at something a big piece of plastic – in true cartoon style – flew up and hit me in the face. I did see some interesting people yesterday such as: a woman who looked like a Yeti dating a tiny man, an old lady with bouffant purple hair, and a great west Norfolk mustache – extra bushy. Also free with this weeks Evening News Mother’s day cards. More on that soon.
