As if to prove I’m not just making this stuff up Tom came by again for a friendly visit to the newsstand to eat his lunch outside the confines of Stalag Norwich Union when Breast Boy appears and without even a hello just asks me “So what does the preverbal white elephant mean?” You just can’t make this stuff up.
Also about the Mothering Sunday cards, that was just a weird thing to hand out, a few where grateful, some upset that they had just bought one, a surprising number felt they had to tell me they didn’t have a mother, and two guys got one right in front of their Mum and even asked their Mum which one they wanted. The best was the guy whose Mum actually bought the paper then asked her if she had a pen for him to fill it out right there. Other weird developments a strange little fat kids feels he has to ask me every time he walks by if the newspaper is free yet. I feel like he knows something I don’t.

Perhaps he is confusing the newspaper with Nelson Mandela. Next time he asks say, "Yes, and he is now an African figurehead"
Another thing.
"The Bird That Was Not Cooked". Sounds like a corking tale behind that one.
Man: Look at that chicken. It lives yet.
Man 2: Why, so it does. How queer.
Like the idea of a person called Pittsburgh, too. People named after locations are always good.
