What a festive and busy season we had. We had a week in Portsmouth and a non-stop stream of visiting. Yesterday was a good example: We woke up and said good morning and good bye to Tom and Faye who had been staying with us, I then cleaned the house for an hour and Chris went to town to run errands and meet a friend for lunch. The second I stopped cleaning Jordanna stopped by for tea and a talk which was lovely as always, then Chris got home, then fifteen minutes after Jordanna left Ginger Chris and his sister stopped to pick Chris’ brain about teaching, then a half hour and a dog walk after they left we did the middle class adult thing and with a bottle of wine we went next door for dinner till ten at night. I’m not use to all this interacting with humans.
So needless to say it was good to go back on-line today and whilst perusing the BBC news on-line come across things the way I have now become accustom – not in person, but on-line. Reminding me ‘Oh yeah I use to not spend my days typing on this computer all day.’

The
first example I had was Tash whose lovely face was shining up at me as the winner of the Whitbread new novel award. (The winner of the novel award and a fellow new novel nominee were from UEA too!) Hopefully my hours spent on this machine will not be in vain as well.

The
next example was the South Loop Club as if to say “Remember Kate when you would spend your lunch hour (sometimes class periods) munching free popcorn in a bar which use to be in a slightly seedy part of Chicago. Remember when you use to talk to people.”
Ahh those were the days talking to people, talking to fellow artist, and not staring at a computer screen. Oh wait that was the last two weeks too! Just no free popcorn and talking to Whitbread winners – yet.
